Brain (and everything else) Freeze
...and not in the good Slurpee way, either. I want to contribute to this blasted blog, but nothing is coming to me. Is my life that boring? (QUIET, peanut gallery!)I think a lot of it is the time of year. Limbo, is how I see February and March. Technically still winter, but not quite winter anymore, in my eyes. Not quite spring, either. Trees are still barren and the air is still cold...but the robins have arrived (and are talkative), the bulbs are sprouting...and there is daylight for almost the entirety of my work commute (I cannot WAIT for Daylight "Save-Me" Time). If you close your eyes and ignore the chill, you can almost pretend you can smell the grass peeking through the hard earth.
Winter is so desolate, so dead, so colorless. Almost without hope, if I didn't know better.
Is it BECAUSE of the change of seasons that I so long for the spring? Would I truly appreciate it as I do if I lived in a climate that had year-round life and warmth? I honestly think I would still love it as I do now. I may not notice it quite as much, but I still think I could live my entire life without seeing another snowflake or leafless tree. I could definitely deal with stringing lights on a palm tree around 12/25 each year.
